Anna Silk was born in Fredericton as the daughter of Peter Silk, an academic, and Ilkay Silk, a multi-talented actress as well as a producer, director and educator, playwright as well as Director of Drama of Drama at St. Thomas University. Anna Silk's father was British and her mother, is a Turkish Cypriot English expat. She remembers watching her mother work at play rehearsals. As a young girl, she appeared in a variety of commercials. Anna relocated to Toronto Ontario in order for the purpose of pursuing her acting. In the decade following, she made the move in Los Angeles. Seth Cooperman met Anna at a Los Angeles actor's workshops in 2007 and the couple became engaged. Anna changed her religion to Judaism at the beginning of January 2011, and they renewed their vows at a Jewish wedding ceremony in Fredericton. Bo's same-sex romance with Lauren was highlighted by CNN's most popular television Couples ever and named Top TV Couple in 2013 by E! Entertainment Television. Anna's social media following grew after the success of her show.
